The Department of Education will conduct a tribal consultation webinar on Thursday, October 23, 2014 and in person Wednesday, October 29, 2014  on the discretionary grant option for FY 2015 that would fund culturally-relevant, place-based strategies that are designed to improve the educational and life outcomes for children and youth in tribal communities. Recognizing the importance of tribal self-determination, the grants would support a coordinated intervention strategy chosen by the tribal community, within the context of a more comprehensive approach to youth development planned by that community.
