The Tribal Early Childhood Research Center at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, Centers for American Indian and Alaska Native Health in collaboration with the Johns Hopkins University Center for American Indian Health and Michigan State University’s Office of Outreach and engagement will host a Summer Institute from July 14-18, 2014 at Johns Hopkins University, Bloomberg School of Public Health. The TRC Summer Institute provides graduate level coursework and mentorship to students interested in pursuing research and/or evaluation related to tribal early childhood programs such as Head Start, Home Visiting, and Child Care. In addition to completing a 2-credit qualitative and quantitative research methods course, TRC Summer Institute participants will meet with core faculty for targeted mentoring and will learn more about the Center for American Indian Health’s graduate public health degree and public health certificate programs.
A limited number of travel and tuition scholarships will be provided. Scholarship applications and eligibility requirements are available at www.tribalearlychildhood.org. Students who have taken past TRC Summer Institute courses and who are currently working with tribal Head Start, Home Visiting, Child Care, or other early childhood programs are strongly encouraged to apply.
